One Year of Soft Labor
Welcome to Soft Labor, the namesake publication of Soft Labor, a strategic consultancy for organizations, designers, and the culture industry led by Sarah Hromack-Chan. Did someone forward you this publication? Subscribe, read our archives, or email us at info@softlabor.biz.
Happy Birthday, Soft Labor. đ
One year ago, I began publishing Soft Labor, the namesake newsletter of my consultancy, as a way of sharing my hard-earned insight into working in the creative industries over the past twenty years. Since launching Soft Labor, I've received a wealth of feedback, fan mail, and queries. Writing this publication is my great pleasure, as doing so reminds me of where I began, as a 90s teenage bedroom blogger. Email me anytime: info@softlabor.biz
Year Two will bring about a few editorial shifts:
đĒŠ Soft Labor will publish bi-weekly, on Mondays. Depth over frequency! đĢĄ
đĒŠ Soft Labor will focus more intently on Search Results, the feature highlighting the consultancy's research interests. Search Results will include a treasure trove of recently-published links đ; deeper, weirder Internet cuts đŊ; and more video and images. Work and creative labor will remain topical mainstays, but Soft Labor's thematic scope will expand. Some posts may be paywalled. đ đ¸
đĒŠ Soft Labor will continue to publish standalone Progress Reports to highlight the wealth of publishing activities and projects that characterize Soft Labor's consulting practice, as well as those of our closest clients and collaborators. đ
đĒŠ The Soft Labor Questionnaire will carry on. Respond to yours here. đ
đĒŠ Performance Improvement Plan will publish less frequently. We've doled out a lot of advice! đ¤
Thank you for reading. Soft Labor appreciates you.
Yours in solidarity,
Sarah Hromack-Chan
