Soft Labor values strong research, careful listening, and gut feelings—and we’re especially excited when data begins to align with our intuitions.
Strategy: Our strategic skills span across content, editorial, design—both creatively and operationally—with a strong emphasis on the digital space. With over twenty years of institutional working experience (including ten-plus as a director), we collaborate as well with board and executive leadership as we do with individual cultural producers.
Strategic Planning: While we have both led and participated in large-scale strategic planning efforts at major cultural organizations, we equally enjoy working with emerging and start-up stage operations—or established organizations who seek a new perspective and approach.
Research: Our academic background, which includes significant teaching experience, spans across art theory and practice, as well as visual and critical studies. Our work is informed by both traditional and empirical research methodologies with a strong sensibility toward visual culture.
Writing: We specialize in writing for the web with a strong commitment to smooth, clear, engaging language tailored to the cognitive realities of the digital space.
Editing: Our editorial approach is a holistic one that considers language both visually and digitally. We are dedicated to maintaining the integrity of language while making it accessible and engaging for the reader.
Collaboration: Founder Sarah Hromack-Chan currently leads Soft Labor. If a project demands it, we may build teams of creative collaborators to fulfill our clients' needs based on our own vast network.
