Comrades,

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate. 🎃 Two words of professional advice for today: No ghosting! 👻

We thank those of you who are reading, reacting, and writing to Soft Labor. 🤓Thanks, too, to those who have subscribed, whether you're able to support financially or not. 💸 To those of you who have answered and shared the Soft Labor Questionnaire: Thank you. 📝

We're writing with a few updates:

🆕 Keep on reading Soft Labor, as we'll begin publishing a new set of features very soon. (Don't worry: We'll still keep doling out the advice.)

🆕 Critic and editor Brian Droitcour recently invited us to contribute a monthly column to Outland, the publication produced by Outland, a new, nonprofit organization dedicated to publishing and education in the field of art and technology. We'll be writing about encounters between institutions and new media, and the shifting meaning of digital work. Some of you may recall an earlier iteration of Outland, which was also edited by Droitcour. This new version will provide a refreshed perspective on the ever-evolving intersection of art and tech. Subscribe to Outland on Substack and watch out for it's launch.

🆕 We invite you to write to us anytime seeking advice—or new business. We've received some real bangers! Always happy to help. Find us at info@softlabor.biz.

🆕 Fact: You, too, can respond to the Soft Labor Questionnaire by using this form. The SLQ is a brief series of questions we’ve asked comrades in the field to answer about their own working experiences. We seek a wide range of voices working in creative disciplines.

Yours,
Soft Labor
